The Lockdown Playlist
with EURO 2020, I wanted to do a Lockdown Playlist with some football anthems in (many were not originally written about football; they have been taken to heart by football fans and chanted at games/taken on a new life as a football song). I don’t think there has been a lot of new songs written for EURO 2020, so I am going to include a selection of football anthems from throughout the years. With fans allowed back in stadiums, there is a lot of atmosphere and support being shown. It is hard to predict a winner at this stage - though I don’t think there will be any upsets at all. Whether you like football or not, it is hard not to be swept up in the coverage and pageantry. For that reason, here are some football themes and anthems that should definitely evoke a feeling of celebration and support.
