Goodbye 70's
Songs from Albums Turning Forty-Five in 2027
_________
I want to wrap this series up…
before we get into the middle of December, as I will be looking to spotlight artists to watch next year. Some Christmas features. This is an album anniversary series where I concentrate on a different year each time. This time, we are looking at albums that turn forty-five in 2027. Albums released in 1982. It was a varied year, where some truly exceptional albums were released. Included in the best of the best is Yazoo’s Upstairs at Eric’s, Prince’s 1999, Kate Bush’s The Dreaming and Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Also, there were jewels from Donald Fagen, ABC, Bad Brains, and Duran Duran. This was the year before I was born, so there is some significance to the year. I love the breadth and quality of music that came out in 1982. Marking forty-five years of some stunning albums, I end this feature with a mixtape containing the cream of 1982’s music. If you are unfamiliar with some of the albums from that year, it is well worth doing a bit of exploring. Rather than ageing and sounding dates, these albums…
REMAIN absolutely sublime.
